Growing up in a small North Texas suburb, Michael’s interest in the natural world stemmed from an innate curiosity and exploratory spirit. Finding importance in integrating the natural world into everyday experiences of urban dwellers, Michael pursued a degree in Landscape Architecture at Texas Tech University. Inspired by the unique landscape of the Texas High Plains, Michael’s academic focus became centered around regionalism and sense of place, leading him to join TELA in 2020 with the goal to continue that mission into built work.

In his 6-year tenure, he has worked on various project scales and sectors, from master planning and design documentation to construction observation. He is committed to exploring creative design solutions throughout all project phases, with a passion for drawing by hand, detailing, and sustainability. As a project manager he aims to lead by a shared collective vison, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and delivering projects that respond to natural, cultural and ecological systems.

Michael is a Professional Landscape Architect in the State of Texas #4115 and has held leadership positions in the Central Texas ASLA Chapter for 3 years, including Section Chair in 2025. Outside of the office, you can find Michael at the local watering hole, watching movies and tv shows, taking film photos, traveling with his wife, listening to vinyl, and spending time with friends and family.
