Native Austinite Stephanie came to landscape architecture after moving to New York City and gaining a true appreciation for public parks and urban planning. She pursued her degree in Landscape Architecture at the City College of New York, and went on to practice for NYC landscape architecture firms on school yards, streetscapes, parks, plazas, university master plans, and residential estates. At the Central Park Conservancy Stephanie oversaw renovations of historic adventure-style playgrounds and the archaeologically significant Forts Landscape.
Stephanie has been with TELA since 2018. She is interested in the challenges cities face as they grow, and promotes the preservation and integration of local ecologies, hydrologic systems, and equitable design. She is passionate about the development of dynamic play environments that engage kids and adults in the natural world. She most recently oversaw construction of the renovation of Kingsbury Commons in Pease Park and is currently working on Quinta Mazatlan World Birding Center in McAllen, Texas, the Campsite at Shield Ranch, and the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center.
