San Antonio Botanical Garden Event Center
The culmination of a ten-year project, phase two of the San Antonio Botanical Garden master plan was designed for events and new space for administration. The heart of the project is a central lawn for hosting galas, weddings, yoga, and outdoor concerts. Visitors enter the new sculptural event building on a floating boardwalk ascending through existing trees to the entry. The sculptural event center is tucked into an existing hill where our designers carved rhythmic curved stone steps into the grade up to the event lawn. A view at the terminus of the lawn is the melodic ‘fountain of the ferns’ which holds up the rest of the hill and existing mature live oaks. Existing large oaks and cypress were saved in place and are the prized features of the event lawn.
