Commodore Perry Estate
The Commodore Perry Estate, located within the Hancock neighborhood of central Austin along the banks of Waller Creek, will take on new life as an event venue, inn, and residential compound immersed in landscape. Built in 1928, the recently renovated Mediterranean Revival-style mansion and grounds will be activated with the addition of a luxury hotel, restaurant, swimming pool, townhomes, and agricultural gardens, complemented by a network of paths, new and renovated gardens, courtyards, outdoor dining spaces, modernized streetscapes, and the restoration of Waller Creek as it flows through the property. Balancing the historic and the modern, the pastoral and the urban, and the protection of precious open space with increased density, the project will serve as both respite from and polestar for central Austin.
This project includes the renovation of the 41st Street and Red River streetscapes, restoration of the historic mansion and gardens, and the addition of the Inn.
