Young Life Texas Camp Master Plan
Young Life Texas Camp is an adventure camp complex on the Sabinal River in Bandera County, Texas. TELA's scope included supporting Overland Partners on a 250-page master planning document addressing the 600-acre site. The collaborative master plan addressed multiple existing structures, siting of new administrative and lodging buildings, recreation areas, gathering spaces of various scales, pedestrian and vehicular connectivity and access points, natural waterfront trails, land restoration, and preservation. Young Life will have a variety of spaces, all of which will be authentic experiences of Texas Hill Country ranching, landscape, and ecology. The spaces range from large hayfields, wildflower meadows, site water tributaries, grand lawn gathering and recreational spaces to intimate courtyards and seating areas. The planning document makes recommendations for phased implementation, prioritizing key areas of the plan over the next two years, and a proposed project schedule for full implementation.
