Prospect House
Prospect House is a new event space located on twenty acres near Dripping Springs, Texas. The flexible site design accommodates events of varying sizes both indoors and out, including an intimate gathering place under heritage Live Oaks and a formal ceremony lawn with expansive Hill Country views.
Once a working cattle ranch, the acreage has since been designated as a wildlife habitat. Following years of grazing and subsequent construction disturbance, a large portion of TELA’s scope included restoring the land back to its native Oak Savannah through a two-acre re-seeding effort.
Both the architecture and landscape architecture celebrate a rural simplicity referential to the region. In addition to the outdoor event spaces and grassland restoration, the site design incorporates a large parking area to accommodate influxes of guests and service vehicles. TELA’s design softens these spaces with planting buffers, permeable materials and natural stone traffic control measures for a site-sensitive design.
